The north of Thailand, Chiang Mai is full of traditions and culture, temples, museums and artesian markets. Enjoy in this circuit in Chiang Mai and it’s environment where we have mixed common cultural visits with a touch of originality like “authentic” visits.
Day 1: Temples of Chiang Mai and visit the ancient city
Pick-up in the airport or your hotel in Chiang Mai at 9 am and go see the ancient city of Chiang Mai as an integration approach, visiting the most common temples like Wat Phra Singh o the Chedi Luang temples. Also, we’ll visit other less known temples but it doesn’t mean they’re less impressive, like the Wat Lokmolee temples, Silver temple and lastly the Wat Umong temple. Return to the hotel at 5 in the afternoon. We’ll stop by for lunch (food included).
Day 2: Doi Inthanon National Park + Numtok temple
Pick-up in the airport at 9am and we’ll go visit the Numtok temple, of Chinese origin and conspicuous for it’s colors. Subsequently, it’s the way to the Doi Inthanon National Park. The Doi Inthanon National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand. Covers the districts of Chomthong, Mae Wang, Sanpatong, and Toi Lor Sub-district of Chiang Mai with a total of 482 square kilometers. While in the national park, we’ll go and visit the highest mountain and temple of Thailand, 2,565 meters above the sea and breathtaking waterfalls called "Mae Ya" and "Wachirathan" among others. Return to the hotel by 5pm. We’ll stop by for lunch near waterfalls (food included).
Day 3: Doi Suthep Temple + Doi Pui tribal village
Pickup at the hotel at 9 am and we’ll go visit the Doi Suthep temple, the most popular temple of this part of Thailand. The Doi Suthep temple was constructed in 1383, during the Lanna Kingdom (one of the north kingdoms). The legend tells that one elephant was sent with the purpose of sending a relic and choosing the location where the temple would be made, which later after spinning three times over it, it died and now that place is where the temple is. By this way the location was chosen. Real or not, the matter of fact is that from the Doi Suthep temple you’ll magnificient views of Chiang Mai and the entire province. It’s a must stop for those who will be visit the northern capital of Thailand. After this visit to the popular temple, we’ll go see the Doi Pui tribal village, famous for it’s typical traditional clothes of great color and it’s old trade of opium, now known to be a point of interest situated a few kilometers up the Doi Suthep temple, because of it’s views, market or even to go observe the exotic opium plant.
